NV One-Stop partners with the Armed Forces Chamber
The highlight of the event was the opening of a permanent One-Stop Career Center inside the Aliante Library. This new resource offers veterans and military spouses essential employment and training assistance at no cost, helping them navigate common challenges when transitioning from military to civilian careers.
“Many times, veterans have trouble translating their military skills into civilian skills on resumes or during interviews,” said Andre’ Haynes, Founder and CEO of the Armed Forces Chamber. "The Veterans Resource Fair provided support to address this issue, helping veterans effectively showcase their skills and experience to potential employers. We give special thanks to Bonita Fahy for making this Fair possible."
In addition to networking and on-site interviews with employers, the fair featured a mock-interview session from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees had the opportunity to practice their job interview techniques and receive feedback from industry professionals.
Several guest speakers from across the valley also shared their insights on career development and resources available to veterans and their families. Veterans attending the event were encouraged to bring military identification, such as a Military ID, VA ID Card, or DD-214 Form.
