The Armed Forces Chamber proudly honored Scott Black for his outstanding public service during his mayoral campaign kickoff Tuesday evening at the North Las Vegas Library District amphitheater. The tribute highlighted Black’s eight‑year tenure as Councilman for Ward 2 and his unwavering commitment to families, small businesses, and veterans.
Under Black’s leadership, Ward 2 recorded record park expansions, lowered response times for first responders, and attracted more than $250 million in private investment. He championed initiatives that modernized neighborhood infrastructure, expanded access to workforce training, and created new partnerships with veteran‑owned enterprises. “Andre’ Haynes, Founder and CEO of the Armed Forces Chamber, stated, ‘Scott Black has consistently demonstrated servant leadership, integrity, and genuine concern for every resident. His results‑driven approach mirrors the Chamber’s mission to empower military families and strengthen our regional economy, and we are pleased to celebrate his accomplishments as he seeks to serve the entire city.’” During the ceremony, Haynes presented Black with a framed Certificate of Excellence. The audience of more than 100 supporters applauded as Black pledged to support continuation of North Las Vegas' success.
