Clark County, NV — In a powerful tribute to America’s combat-wounded veterans, the Board of Clark County Commissioners formally recognized National Purple Heart Day by unveiling 13 newly installed road signs at major entry points throughout Clark County, including Harry Reid International Airport. The initiative honors the sacrifice and valor of Purple Heart recipients and serves as a daily reminder to residents and visitors of the county’s enduring gratitude.

Commissioner Jim Gibson presented an official proclamation during the Commissioner's Recognition of the Clark County Board of Commissioner’s Meeting on August 5, 2025, inside the Commission Chambers at the Government Center. The proclamation was graciously accepted by Vincent Palmieri Jr., Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.

The Purple Heart is a symbol of bravery and sacrifice,” said Commissioner Gibson. “Clark County is proud to honor our veterans with a visible and lasting tribute.

Also in attendance were key members of the Armed Forces Chamber who have long championed veteran initiatives. Commander Andre’ Haynes, Private David Farrakhan (CEO of Ephriams David Las Vegas, USA), and Private JoAnna Clark (CEO of Strength and Flight) stood in solidarity to commend Purple Heart veterans and applaud the County’s efforts.

The installation of these signs is more than a gesture—it’s a powerful public statement that our community recognizes and respects the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes,” said Andre’ Haynes. “It sends a clear message: in Clark County, we never forget our warriors.

The signs will serve as permanent landmarks of gratitude, symbolizing the county’s unwavering support of veterans for generations to come.
