A Salute to Our Veterans Celebrates Local Heroes

Friends of Parkinson’s, in partnership with community organizations including the Armed Forces Chamber, proudly presented “A Salute to Our Veterans” at the Vista Park Retirement Community in North Las Vegas. The event, held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., marked a heartfelt tribute to local veterans, drawing more than 100 honorees from the community.
This marks the second year that the Armed Forces Chamber has supported the event. Last year, Andre’ Haynes, Founder and CEO of the Armed Forces Chamber, emceed the program held at the Atomic Museum. This year, the event was emceed by Phillip Washington, honorary board member of the Armed Forces Chamber, who led the audience through a morning filled with music, entertainment, and recognition of veterans’ service.
Attendees were treated to a USO-style show featuring classic tunes and lively performances, creating a joyful and patriotic atmosphere for all. In addition, special awards were presented to veterans, highlighting their contributions and sacrifices in service to the nation. The event was free and open to the public, emphasizing the community’s commitment to honoring its heroes.
Members of the Armed Forces Chamber were prominently involved, including Andre’ Haynes (Founder and CEO), JP Edwards (Executive Officer), David Farrakhan (Chair, Parade Committee), and JoAnna Clark (Co-Chair, Parade Committee). Their continued support underscores the Chamber’s dedication to veterans and community engagement.
“A Salute to Our Veterans” reflects the combined efforts of Friends of Parkinson’s and local partners in creating meaningful experiences that celebrate and honor those who have served. The event not only entertained but also fostered connections among veterans, families, and supporters across North Las Vegas.
